Food Books

Those who know me know I’m no foodie. However, I just purchased some fabulous books.

The first is called Fictitious Dishes: An album of literature’s most memorable meals by Dinah Fried.

Dinah Fried took different memorable food scenes from different books she’s read and actually MADE the dishes. They she took pictures of them for us! Each set of pages has the food quote that inspired the picture along with interesting facts about the book/author/time period and then the picture of the food. Haven’t you ever read a book where they’re drinking coffee or tea non-stop and then you had to go make yourself a cup? That always happens to me. Anyway. It’s a really cool book.

The other book is Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails with a literary twist by Tim Federle.

This one I purchased for Nick. I can’t tell you how it is yet, as I haven’t had time to look through it. But I hope it’s as good as it sounds!
